John Hammill

John is the Managing Partner of CapFree Xchange, where he leads the development of innovative investment products and strategies. With over 20 years of experience in real estate and private equity, he brings deep expertise across asset-based income investments.

John founded Capview in 2010 to offer investors access to income-producing real estate solutions. The firm provides a comprehensive suite of services including 1031 exchange solutions, acquisition, asset management, property management, accounting and reporting, disposition, and strategic advisory for discretionary funds and separately managed accounts. John has been involved in transactions exceeding $1 billion, including the launch of a publicly traded Net Lease REIT. These investments have consistently delivered attractive risk-adjusted returns for clients.

Before Capview, John’s career began in 1994 and included participation in over 600 real estate transactions totaling more than $3.25 billion. He also played a key role in various private equity, structured debt, and structured equity offerings, and previously founded a multifamily REIT.

John earned his MBA from the University of Miami and his Bachelor of Science from Southern Methodist University. A fifth-generation real estate investor, he was raised in Miami, Connecticut, and South Africa.

Outside the office, he enjoys sailing, squash, tennis, golf, skiing, and hiking.
